Swiss Style Oatmeal
- Minutes to Prepare:
- Number of Servings: 3
Ingredients
Directions
1 cup rolled oats (not instant kind)2 cups water1/4 cup golden raisins1 Gala apple (or other kind if you prefer)3 tbsp. chopped walnuts (Trader Joe's baking pieces are just the right size)6 oz. container yogurt (I like to use the Dannon fruit on the bottom or similar)
The night before, bring 2 cups of water to the boil, add rolled oats and raisins. Bring back to a boil, turn off heat and cover saucepan with lid. The next morning all the water will be absorbed. Note: This recipe does not work with instant oatmeal.
The next morning, grate the apple (unpeeled), using a large-holed grater placed flat on top of a large bowl. Stir in cooked oatmeal & raisins, walnut pieces & yogurt until well blended.
May be served warm or cold.
