Ingredients
Directions
2 1/2 gallon freezer bags of prepared figs1 6 oz box of Berry Blue JelloViolet Wilton food coloring optional
Sterilize jars lids and rings for 10 8 oz jars.
Keep jars rings and lids hot.
Remove stems of figs and puree in blender or food processor. This should produce 17 cups of figs. Puree the blueberies and add them to the fig and jello mixture in a large pot. Stir and simmer your "cauldron" until it reduces to a jam consistency (about 90 minutes). You may wish to turn this grey mixture into a black jam. If so, add one knife tip of violet food coloring.
When ready pour hot mixture into hot prepared jars and process in hot water bath for 30 minutes.
Remove from simmering water and leave undisturbed until the next day. You should hear a "pop" when each jar seals.
