BBQ Baby Back Ribs

2 slabs pork baby back ribs, cut into 4 rib pieces1/4 cup Splenda brown sugar blendSalt & pepper, to taste4 Tbsp liquid smoke2 cloves garlic, chopped1 medium onion, sliced1 can diet coke1/2 bottle barbecue sauce
1. Spray inside slow cooker with cooking spray.
2. Remove inner skin from ribs. Mix brown sugar, salt & pepper, liquid smoke and garlic and rub mixture all over ribs. Cut into 4 rib pieces.
3. Place ribs and onions in slow cooker and pour soda over the top.
4. Cover and cook on LOW 7 hours. Remove ribs from slow cooker. Drain and discard liquid.
1. Set oven broiler setting to HIGH setting. Brush ribs with barbecue sauce. Broil 10 - 15 minutes, turning once halfway through cooking and watching closely not allowing to burn.
