Debbie's Shepherd Pie

1 pound ground beef2 garlic cloves minced3 bacon strips, diced1 small onion chopped1/4 teaspoon dried oregano1 can (11 ounces) corn5 1/2 cups mashed potatoes (prepared without milk and butter.)2 egg whites beaten3 tablespoons butter1 to 2 tablespoons fresh parsleyhalf a cup of tomato saucesalt and pepper if you want it.
Cook the ground beef until no longer pink; drain and set aside. In the same skillet, cook the bacon, oregano, garlic, and onion until bacon is crisp. Stir in the tomato sauce, corn and reserved beef. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer; uncovered for ten minutes.
Meanwhile, combine the mashed potatoes, eggs, 2 tablespoons of butter and parsley. Spread half of the potato mixture onto the bottom and sides of a greased nine inch pie plate. Top with the beef mixture and remaining potato mixture. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes.
Brush with the butter. Bake for 10 minutes longer or until top is golden brown.
