1/2 cup boiling water1/3 cup margarine or butter1/2 cup cold water1/3 cup sugar1 egg, beaten1/4 cup lukewarm water1 cake or pkg of yeast1/4 tsp salt4 cups all purpose flour
Combine boiling water and fat in 1 bowl. In another bowl, combine cold water, beaten egg and sugar. Dissolve yeast in warm water. Combine all liquid ingredients together. Add flour and salt. Beat until smooth. Knead lightly. Place in a greased bowl: cover and place in refrigerator until ready to use (overnight). Make into rolls: let rise twice in volume in bulk, about 3 hours. Bake at 425 for 10 to 12 minutes
