Ingredients
3/4 cup sugar1 cup tamari2 tablespoons water1 tablespoon grated lemon peel3 cloves garlic, minced1 star anise
Directions
Carmelize the sugar in a medium saucepot.
Gradually add the rest of the ingredients, stirring continually.
Bring to a boil, lower heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
Cool and strain through a cheesecloth.
