Dough:1 cup margarine1 cup sugar2 eggs (beaten)1.5 tsp vanilla extract3.5 cup flour0.5 tsp baking powder0.5 tsp saltGlaze:1 c powdered sugar1.5 tsp vanillawater
With a flat beater in an stand mixer cream the butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Slowly add the flour, baking powder and salt at low speed and mix until blended. Chill dough for several hours or overnight. Working with small portions of the dough (keep remaining dough cool) roll out on floured board to about 1/8 thick. Cut into shapes. Bake at 375 on ungreased cookie sheets for 8-10 min.
Mix together powdered sugar, vanilla and enough water to make it a thin glaze. Spread the glaze over the cookie and cover with some colored sanding sugar.
