Nana's Whole Wheat Biscuits

Ingredients
Sift together these dry ingredients: 1 cup whole wheat flour1 1/2 tsp baking powder1 tsp salt1/3 cup instant non fat powdered milkUse a pastry blender or a fork to cut in 4 Tbs of Crisco shortening until the texture looks like coarse cornmeal. At this point add 1/2 cup water and stir quickly. Add up to 1/4 cup more water if necessary to get dough to ball up. Remove from bowl & place on floured surface. Knead 10 times only. Roll out from center until dough is 1/2 inch thick. Cut with juice glass dipped in flour for round biscuits. Cut with cookie cutters for shaped biscuits. Reform dough, roll out & cut again until all dough has been used up. Bake at 450 degrees in preheated oven on cookie sheet.
Directions
Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
Nana said, Bake on UNGREASED sheet for 12 minutes (to 15 minutes). I cut the shortening in the recipe, so I lightly greased the pan under each biscuit. They were great.
