Apple Oatmeal

Ingredients
2 apples (I used a granny smith and gala)1 cup oatmeal2 cups water1 Tablespoon brown sugar (other sweetener can be used or this can be omitted)1 tsp. cinnamonSalt, cloves, allspice, attional cinnamon to taste
Directions
1. Grate 1 apple, I used a Grannysmith for this part
2. Combine oats, grated apple and water in a medium sauce pan. Heat over med. heat for about 5 minutes, until boiling.
3. While oatmeal is cooking, chop the other apple.
4. When water comes to a boil, reduce heat and simmer 5-10 minutes.
5. Add chopped apple, cinnamon and brown sugar. Cook for 10 minutes or until apples are tender and liquid is absorbed.
6. Season to taste.
*If using quick oats, reduce cooking time to 5 minutes each time.
