Ginger Pear Bran Muffins

Ingredients
2 cups wheat bran1 cup oat bran1cup whole wheat flour2 teaspoons baking soda 1 teaspoons baking powder1/2 teaspoon salt2 large eggs2/3 cup yogurt1/3 cup canola oil2/3 cup honey1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)2 scant cups peeled and mashed very ripe pears (about 3 pears or 17 oz) or 2 15 oz cans pears, drained and mashed + 1/3 cup pear syrup1/2 cup finely cut chopped candied ginger, preferably uncrystalized
Directions
Heat oven to 375. Grease muffin pan.
Combine brans flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt and set aside.
Combine eggs, yogurt, oil, honey, and vanilla in a small bowl and mix well. Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
Gently stir in pears and ginger.
Generously fill muffin cups with batter. Bake until tooth pick comes out clean, about 25 to 28 minutes. Cool in pan for 10 to 15 minutes, then carefully remove from pan.
