Directions
Mix together well the ground beef, pepper, salt, garlic powder, egg, worcestershire sauce and bread crumbs. Make into 4 patties. Heat the butter in a large frying pan. Add the patties and cook for 4-5 minutes each side. While the patties are cooking, slice the onion. Remove the patties from the pan and set aside. Add the onions to the pan drippings and saute until translucent. Turn down heat and cook onions slowly for 15 to 20 minutes. Add the flour on top of the onions and mix in. Cook and stir for 2 minutes. Add the beef broth and bring to a boil. If the sauce is too thin, mix about 1/4 c. of the gravy (without the onions) with 2 tbsp. of cornstarch until smooth. Add to the gravy. Stir until thick. Put the patties back in the pan and cover. Cook over medium heat for about 15 minutes.
