Masoor dal stew (brown lentil soup)

Ingredients
1 cup raw Masoor dal/ brown skinned lentils1 cup chopped brown onion1 cup chopped carrots3 tbsp chopped ginger and garlic2 bay leaf1 tsp coriander powder1 tsp cumin powder1 tsp turmeric powder1 tsp red chili powder1.5 tsp cumin seedsSaltLemon juiceChopped cilantro
Directions
Heat A large saucepan with 4 water while washing lentils thoroughly.
Bring water to a rolling boil, add lentils.
Cover and Let it boil for 30 minutes until soft.
Add all chopped veggies and spices and salt. Add more water to make it sooupy.
Cook for another 15 minutes.
Garnish with cilantro.
Sprinkle lemon juice while serving.
