Braised Red Cabbage

Cabbage (1 head red or green would work as well)Sweet onion (1 medium)Vinegar (1/4 cup either cider or white is fine)Brown Sugar (loosely measured 1/4 cup)
chop onion into half inch slivers and brown in pan
shred the red cabbage by cutting in half and then making 1/4" slices down each side. (don't forget to wash it thoroughly after shredding!)
add cabbage to the pan with onions in it.
sprinkle 1/4 cup brown sugar and about one half cup vinegar over the cabbage and onion mixture.
Toss and let simmer for about 15-20 minutes.
Serving Size: About 8 one cup servings
