Ingredients
Banana, fresh, 3 medium (7" to 7-7/8" long) (remove)*Lemon Juice, 1 fl oz (remove)*Flour, white, 3 cup (remove)Baking Soda, 1.5 tsp (remove)Salt, .24 tsp (remove)Butter, salted, .75 cup (remove)Sugar - C&H Pure Cane Granulated White Sugar, 2 1/8 cups Egg, fresh, whole, raw, 3 jumbo (remove)Vanilla Extract, 2 tsp (remove)Buttermilk, lowfat, 1.5 cup (remove)IcingButter, salted, 0.50 cup (remove)Cream Cheese, 1 oz (remove)Powdered Sugar, 3.5 cup, unsifted
Directions
Preheat oven to 275* Grease and flour a 9x 12 pan. Mash 3 bananas and mix with lemon juice. In a mixer cream 3/4 cup of butter with 2/18 cups of sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a atime then stir in 2tsp Vanilla Beat the flour Mixture (soda and salt) alternately with buttermilk. Stir in Bananas & pour in pan and bake in preheated oven for 1 hour. Remove from oven and cool until you can pick up the pan...then put in freezer for 45 minutes...this will make the cake very moist. For Frosting: cream butter and cream cheese until smooth. Beat in 1 t of vanilla and add icing sugar and beat on low speed until combined, then on high speed until frosting is smooth. Spread on cooled cake and sprinkle on chopped walnut over the top of the frosting if desired.
