Lisa's Keema (one pot meal)

1.5 lbs lean ground sirloin1 cup chopped onions (1 medium onion, chopped)1 cup dry medium grain brown rice1 cup canned crushed tomatoes or chunky tomato sauce1 cup frozen peas1 cup diced potatoes (1medium potato, 1/4" dicd) 2 cloves garlic or 1/2 tsp garlic powder1/2 teaspoon each cinnamon, tumeric, ginger1.5 tbsp curry powderAdobo seasoning or salt and pepper to taste3 cups water
Brown ground sirloin in pan with onions until browned.
Add tomatoes, potatoes, rice, lentils, 3 cups water, and spices along with salt and pepper to taste.
Bring to a simmer and cook for 25 minutes or unti rice is fully cooked. Add peas near the end of cooking to retain more color and flavor.
Add additional water if it becomes too thick. It should have the consistency of chili.
Serving Size: 6 1-cup servings
