Unstuffed Beef Cabbage Rolls, no rice

1 lb. lean ground beef1 tablespoon oil1 cup onion, chopped1 T. garlic, minced1 cabbage, chopped (filling two 8-cup measuring bowls)32 oz. pasta sauce (usually 2 jars, any flavoring)2 cans (8 oz. each) tomato sauce1/2 cup water (optional)2 teaspoon ground black pepper1 teaspoon salt (to taste, I find the pasta sauce adds lots of flavoring and salt)
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
Add the ground beef to skillet, stirring to separate ground beef and it is no longer pink.
Add onion and cook until tender.
Add the garlic and continue cooking for 1 minute.
Add the chopped cabbage, pasta sauce, tomato sauce, pepper and salt. Bring to a simmer.
Cover and continue simmering for 20 to 30 minutes, or until cabbage is tender.
Serving Size: 6-8 servings
