slow cooker french onion soup (with toast and gruyere cheese)

Ingredients
8 onions, sliced8 cups (2 large cartons) beef broth1 packet onion soup mix8 slices bread, toasted1 cup gruyere cheese, shredded
Directions
1. Slice onions.
2. Place onions, beef broth, and onion soup mix in slow cooker. Stir well to combine and mix soup mix.
3. Cook on high for 6 hours on high, or 8 to 10 hours on low.
4. When ready to eat, toast 1 slice of bread per person.
5. Ladle soup into oven safe bowls, and top with toasted bread and sprinkling of gruyere cheese.
6. Place bowls onto cookie sheet, and broil until cheese is melted and bubbly.
