Beef, Cabbage and Bean Stew

2 lb lean or extra lean ground beef1 head cabbage, chopped1 yellow onion, chopped3 cloves garlic, chopped1 can chopped tomatoes1 can chopped tomatoes with green chilli1 can black beans, rinsed1 can red kidney beans, rinsedchilli spices or Italian spices to tastesalt and pepper
1. Brown ground beef with onions and garlic until there is no pink.
2. Chop cabbage, rinse beans.
3. Add cooked beef, chopped cabbage and canned tomatoes to slow cooker and cook on high for 2 hours.
4. Add beans and tomato paste and stir. Season with chilli spices or Italian spices, salt and pepper.
5. Continue cooking in slow cooker for 2-3 hours or until cabbage is soft and cooked through.
Serving Size: makes 16 1.5 cup servings approximately
