Cinnamon Chocolate Cake

1 cup all-purpose flour1 cup whole wheat flour1 cup splenda1/4 tsp salt1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon1 cup water1/2 cup applesauce, unsweetened1/2 cup butter or margarine1/4 cup baking cocoa2 eggs1/2 cup buttermilk1 tsp vanilla extract1 tsp baking sodafrosting:1/2 cup butter or margarine1/3 cup whipping cream1/4 cup baking cocoa1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon3 cups powdered sugar1 tsp vanilla extract1 cup finely chopped walnuts
In a mixing bowl combine the flours, splenda and salt. In a saucepan, combine water, applesauce, butter and cocoa. Bring to a boil, pour over dry ingredients and blend well. Add eggs, buttermilk, vanilla and baking soda. Mix well. Pour into a greased and floured 15x10x1 inch pan. Bake at 375 for 15-20 minutes or until cake tester comes out clean.
For the frosting, combine the butter, cream, cocoa and cinnamon in a saucepan. Cook and stir over medium heat until butter is melted and mixture is heated through. Remove from heat. Beat in sugar and vanilla until smooth. Stir in walnuts. Carefully spread over hot cake. Cool completely.
