Sour Cream Chocolate Chip cookies

Ingredients
2 c flour1 tsp baking soda1 tsp salt1 c granulated sugar1/2 c firmly packed brown sugar2 eggs2 tsp vanilla extract1/3 c sour cream12 oz (2 c) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Directions
Preheat oven to 350.

In a large mixing bowl, cream butter, sugars, eggs and vanilla, beating until creamy. Stir in sour cream and blend well. Add in remaining dry ingredients slowly and blend well, adding chips last.

Drop by teaspoonfulls onto ungreased baking sheets. (Batter is supposed to be very creamy and soft) Space well apart and bake for 8-10 minutes, or until golden brown.

Yield: 4 dozen (apx)

    It doesn't say how much butter to use? I guessed and used 1 cup(2 cubes) and my cookies didn't rise. I've ate sour cream cookies before and they were amazing. Mine.. eh not so much! What did I do wrong? I would like to master these cookies! - 2/20/11
