Chocolate Chip Blondies

Ingredients
2 c. flour2 tsp baking powder1 tsp salt1.5 c. unpacked brown sugar6 Tbsp butter, softened1 egg1 tsp vanilla extract3/4 c. chocolate chips1/3 c. water
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Combine flour, baking powder and salt in small bowl. In a larger bowl, cream butter and brown sugar; add egg and vanilla extract. Gradually mix in flour mixture, alternating with 1/3 c. water. Stir in chips. Spread into a foil-lined 9 x 13 baking pan and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden. Remove foil from pan and cut into 12 squares.

    I'm always on the lookout for a good brownie/blondie recipe, and I think I found it! These are very yummy. Nice & chewy. Next time I think I'd like to replace the butter with applesauce and see how that comes out. The honey idea sounds good, too! - 3/4/11

    I like to replace the brown sugar with the same amount of honey and to add pieces almonds or walnuts. Thanks for sharing this recipe! I made it several times and it always came out perfectly delicious! :-) - 2/12/09
