Meg's Chili

1 lb. Ground Turkey (93% fat free or better)1 lb. Ground Beef (96% fat free or better)1 can tomato paste1/4 cup tomato sauce1 can kidney beans1 pkg. chili powder seasoning1/2 box whole wheat pasta salt and pepper to taste
In a large pot, brown the beef and strain. Put into bowl for holding. In the same pot, brown the turkey and drain. Return the beef to the pot with the turkey and cover with water. Add the packet of chili powder seasoning. Allow this to sit covered at medium heat for a few minutes. Then, add the tomato paste and tomato sauce. Let sit for 3-5 min. Add the pasta. You might need to add more water to the chili at this point and cook covered at med/high heat for 20-25 min. When pasta is finished cooking, add beans and reduce heat to low. After 5 min, turn heat off and allow chili to sit for a few minutes covered before serving. This recipe makes 8-10 servings.
