Basic Biscuit

2 cup Flour, white 3 tsp Baking Powder .5 tsp Salt 8 tbsp Shortening, Crisco .75 cup Milk, 1%
Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.
In large mixing bowl, sift together flower, baking powder, and salt. Cut in shortening using a fork until mixture resembles corn meal. Pour milk into mixture while stirring with a fork. Continue mixing in milk until the dough is soft and pulls away from sides of bowl. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface, and toss with flour until dough is no longer sticky. Roll dough out into a 1/2" thick sheet, and cut with a floured biscuit or cookie cutter. Press together unused dough and repeat. Place biscuits on an ungreased baking sheet and bake in preheated oven until golden brown (approximately 10 minutes).
