Hot Fudge Pudding Cake

Stir together in bowl1 c. flour3/4 c. sugar2 TBS cocoa2 tsp baking powder1/4 tsp saltStir into dry ingredients1/2 c. nonfat milk2 TBS butterBlend in 1 c. chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)Spread in 9" square panSprinkle with mixture of1c. packed brown sugar4 TBS cocoaPour over entire batter1 3/4 c. hot water
In a medium bow, combine flour, sugar, TWO TBS cocoa, baking powder and salt. Stir in milk, and butter just until smooth. Add chopped nuts. Spread mixture in an ungreased 9" square baking pan.
Combine brown sugar and four TBS cocoa; sprinkle over batter in pan. Pour hot water over all; DO NOT STIR.
Bake at 350 degrees for 40 - 45 minutes or until the cake looks dry on top. During baking, cake mixture rises to top and chocolate sauce settles to bottom. Invert square of cake on dessert plates. Drip sauce from pan over each square or the entire cake can be inverted in a deep serving platter. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream if desired.
