40-Minute Buns

Ingredients
1 tsp Salt 0.13 cup (8 fl oz) Water, tap 1.13 cup (8 fl oz) Water, tap 0.25 cup Granulated Sugar 0.06 cup Cornstarch 5.30 tbsp Crisco Pure Vegetable Oil 1 ounce Yeast, bakers 5 cup Flour, white
Directions
In a large bowl, combine yeast, hot water, oil and sugar. Let sit 5 minutes.

Mix cornstarch and cold water and add to yeast mixture along with salt and 3 cups of flour.

Mix until a dough forms (adding flour as needed) and then knead until smooth and elastic, about 3 to 5 minutes.

Preheat oven to 425ºF.

Divide dough into 12 and shape each into either a ball for burger buns or a log for hot dog buns. Place onto a baking tray lined with parchment paper and let rest for 10 minutes.

Bake for 8 to 12 minutes or until golden brown. Remove to wire racks to cool.
