2 cup Wheat Berries, Red Winter Wheat, dry 2-1/2 cup Water, tap1/2 tsp Salt 2 tbsp Canola Oil 1 cup, chopped Onions, raw 1/2 cup, diced Celery, raw 1 cup, chopped Carrots, raw 1 cup Pineapple, frozen chunks 3 serving Pea Pods (30 pea pods) 2 tbsp Kikkoman Low Sodium Soy Sauce 6 tbsp Hemp Hearts- raw shelled hemp seeds 1 tbsp Canola Oil 1/8 cup Whole Wheat Flour1 cup Water, tap 2 oz Cashew Nuts, oil roasted
Put wheat, water and salt in crockpot and cook overnight on low until skins split. Put in a strainer and drain off thick liquid (save for gravy). Wash wheat with cold water to make it fluffy. Press wheat to remove all moisture possible. Set aside.
Add 2 tbsp oil, chopped onion, celery, carrots. Stir-fry for 5 minutes. Add pineapple and pea pods. Cook 5 more minutes.
Add wheat, hemp hearts, soy sauce. Cook 5 more minutes.
Gravy-makes 1 cup
Heat oil, stir in flour. Remove from heat and stir in wheat liquid and water to make 1 cup. Cook over medium heat until smooth and thickened, stirring constantly.
Top vegetable-wheat mixture with gravy, then cashew nuts.
