6TBL flour16 oz mushrooms diced1c heavy cream1/2 c beef broth6TBL diced onion 6 c water 1/4 tsp garlic1/8 red pepper 1/8 tsp nutmeg 1/8 tsp pepper 1/2 tsp salt sauttee mushrooms w/ diced onion, add beef base simmer for 15 min. Add 5.5 c water & 1/2&1/2 cream with the spices. Simmer for 10 min on low heat. Mix flour with a little water til smooth. Add a little soup liquid to that then add to soup. Stir to mix well. Increase heat a little ,stir often til soup is thicker. Should come to a very soft boil. 7 - 8 oz ser You can lighten this up with a lower fat version of a cream. This was my 1st try at this.
