I also left the water off. Due to not being able to handle spicy foods, I didn't use the tomato sauce mixture, I topped it with 98 % fat free cream of mushroom soup mixed with light sour cream. Sorta like swedish meatballs. Yummo! - 6/24/11

Super good! Very quick with stock ingrediants. I like to bake it in the thinner sauce so it does not dry out. Tastes great! Will serve with spaghetti sauce and pasta for the family. Definitely a saver. - 1/19/10

very delicious and very filling! Only thing I did differently was leave the water out of the sauce (since someone said it was runny), added a touch of corn starch, and some splenda brown sugar. I prefer my things with a touch of sweetness. Perfect. - 3/18/09

I used the huge can of crushed tomatoes with garlic, 1/2 cup of regular rice, and added Italian seasoning. Mixed 1/2 cup of water with the tomatoes, added seasonings, and poured over meatballs. Make sure you turn meatballs most of the way through, so that you don't get crunchy rice. - 1/4/11

This is an old family favourite at our house too! Instead of tomato sauce, our recipe calls for tomato juice.. and I now use low-sodium V8 juice for more flavour. Also our recipe calls for chili powder instead of garlic powder. Mmmmm... this was so good! - 3/14/10

The sauce was thin for our family; I plan to experiment with Heintz instead of water. Very easy and tasty. Good weeknight meal in these frigid temps. - 1/8/09

My hubby was a bit leery of porcupine meatballs but this recipe blew him away. He raved at how good they were. I adjusted it by adding Italian seasonings to the meat and using Italian crushed tomatoes on top. This is a keeper! - 5/6/16

I really liked these in that it was different from the usual chicken. Easy too. Didn't add water to the sauce, may add some tomato sauce to the meat mix next time. Punch up the garlic too. Picky eater had no problems eating this! - 2/28/15

I made about 11 meatballs instead of 8 and they came out with a great flavor! Mine were kind of greasy, though. Next time, I'll either try baking in a dish with a shallow rack, or for the last 15 minutes, I'll transfer them to a different dish. Wonderful recipe, very easy! - 4/10/12

I just made these and I had bread and butter with them. Tasted great right on top of the bread. I didnt use garlic powder or celery salt. But they tasted fine. Use a little less water. Mine seemed a bit too watery. Overall, very good! - 6/4/11

Incredible! I used ground turkey & instant brown rice. I also added minced garlic. I teplaced s 1/2 c water in the meat with 1/2 c of the prepared sauce, giving the balls extra flavor Also, i only used 1/2C water to the sauce and it was still a bit too runny. It does thicken as it sits. - 1/5/11
