Ingredients
2 tbls olive oil1 Large onion3 cloves garlic chopped1 tbls chopped fresh ginger1 1/2 lb extra lean ground beef2 1/2 tsp ground coriander2 1/2 tsp ground cumin1/4 tsp black pepper1/2 tsp turmeric1/8 tsp cinnamon1 1/2 tsp salt1 lb potatoes cut into bite size pieces1 cup fat free plain yogurt3/4 cup fat free half and half3/4 cup frozen peas1 1/2 teaspoons lemon juice1/2 cilantro chopped
Directions
Saute onion for 3 minutes add garlic and ginger and saute for 3 more minutes.

Add ground beef and cook until no longer pink.

Add coriander, cumin, pepper, turmeric, cinnamon and salt. Cook for 1 minute, stirring.

Add potatoes, yogurt and half and half
bring to a gentle boil, cover and simmer for 20 minutes.

Uncover and simmer for a further 5 minutes add peas and continue to simmer until peas are heated though.

Stir in lemon juice and cilantro and serve over brown rice.

    Omitted salt, yogurt, half-n-half, lemon juice
    Increased spices
    Substituted Sweet potato for potato
    Added misc other vegetables ... zucchini and yellow squash mainly

    Very Good- made recipe as written, but could increase spices for out taste. When using less lean beef, be sure to drain fat before adding any of the spices. - 5/7/09
