I used brown rice and added mushrooms. I didn't have regular diced tomatoes so I used a can of Rotel. Didn't have tomato sauce so I used tomato/basil spaghetti sauce. I also added pinto beans. It's really good! - 10/17/12

I put it in a crock pot rather than a skillet. I used crushed tomatoes instead of tomato sauce and added an onion, a can of mushrooms and a can of green beans. Turned out delicious, I'll definitely make this again. - 8/6/11

I made this last night, used whole grain brown rice, sprinkled parmesean on it, added 1/2 C mexican blend cheese, and baked on 350 for 35 min. My kids absolutely loved it! and that says it all! - 8/3/08

I use (1) box of instant rice, cooking it while I brown the hamburger. I mix the rice and hamburger together and then pour (1/2) a large can of tomato juice in it. Then I bake it at 425 degrees for 30 mins. Sprinkle parmesan cheese on it when you serve it and it's extra delicious!!! - 7/22/08
