Ingredients
Directions
BURGERS * Turkey, Ground turkey, 93% lean, 1 lb** * Jamaican jerk seasoning * Hamburger buns or Kaiser rolls, 4 rollsSALSA * Mangos, 1 cup, chopped * Onion, red, raw, 1 medium (2-1/2" dia), chopped * Lime Juice, 2 tbsp * Cilantro, raw, 1 tbsp, chopped **I prefer to use ground turkey that's already preshaped into turkey burgers. You can find this in the same section of the refrigerated meats in your grocery store. It cuts time and saves many calories since most burgers are made with bread crumbs and eggs to hold shape on the grill.
To prepare salsa, combine the mangos, onions, lime juice, and cilantro. Let stand at room temperature while you prepare the burgers.
Prepare grill to medium heat.
To prepare burgers, mix turkey with Jamaican jerk seasoning. Divide turkey mixture into 4 equal portions, shaping each into a 1-inch-thick patty.
Lightly coat patties with cooking spray; place on a grill rack coated with cooking spray. Grill 7 minutes on each side or until done. (In lieu of the grill, use a frying pan on the stove lightly coated with cooking spray and heated to medium.)
Cut rolls in half horizontally. Place rolls, cut sides down, on grill rack; grill 1 minute or until lightly toasted. (You can also warm them in the toaster.) Place 1 patty on bottom half of each roll; top with 1 tbsp salsa and top half of roll.
Yields 4 servings (serving size: 1 burger).
