Ma-Ma's Spaghetti Sauce

Ingredients
4 large cans of crushed tomatos 1 extra large can tomato paste4 cloves minced garlic2 cups chopped onion3 pounds extra lean ground pork or sausage Italian sausage is good yoo1 cup grated parmesean cheese2 T. splenda2 T salt2 T olive oil2 cups red wine ( I use Reinetti)1 T basil1 T. oregano
Directions
makes about 40 to 50 3/4 to 1 cup servings
serve over 1/2 cup pasta(Pasta not includes in calories)
Saute meat in olive oil til brown add onion and garlic. Cook till oinion is wilted in a heavy bottom stew pot. Add al other ingredients. Cook for 3 to 5 hours. I made in about an hour and it was still good. Cook on med. till it bubbles then turn down to low and let it simmer. Serve with a green vegetale salad.

    This is similar to my mother's Sicilian spaghetti, except she used ground beef and adds olives, green peppers, mushrooms and zuchini along with the other ingredients. When I make it, I omit the meat altogether. It is really good! - 8/3/08
