1 large Egg, fresh, whole, raw 0.50 tsp Salt 2 cup (8 fl oz) Water, tap 3 tsp Granulated Sugar 2 cup Flour - Gold medal all purpose flour 0.5 serving Rapid Rise/Instant Yeast- 1 packet (Fleischmann’s)
In a bowl, sift flour, mix in the yeast, and make a crater in the center. Mix warm milk and/or water, sugar, salt, and egg, pour into the crater and wisk until thick batter forms. Batter should be soft, but not run off the spoon, rather slide down the spoon. Let the batter rise for 1 hr. DO NOT stir the batter! Start frying in 1/4" oil in a moderately hot pan. Pick up a heaping tablespoon of batter and drop it into the pan. Fry until golden on both sides. Makes about 20 pancakes.
