Slow Cooker Turkey Chili with Black Beans

1,5 tsp extra virgin olive oil 1 cup chopped onions1.5 tsp ground cumin 1.5 tsp dried marjoram 1.5 - 2lbs ground turkey (16 oz used in calculations)1 bay leaf 1 Tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder28 oz can diced tomatoes in juice 1 tsp salt or to taste 3 Tbsp chili powder, or to taste.25 tsp ground cinnamon, ground 15 oz can black beans, rinsed and drained Optional: half to one full jalapeno, minced fine with seeds removed
Saute onion in olive oil. When the onion becomes soft, add marjoram and cumin and cook another minute. Scrape all into slow cooker.
Add ground turkey to pan. Break up meat and stir until no longer pink. Drain if necessary and add to slow cooker.
Next add the rest of the ingredients to the slow cooker--except for the beans. Combine well,
Cover slow cooker and set to low for approximately 4-6 hours. Adjust seasoning throughout.
About 30 minutes before serving, add rinsed and drained black beans. Stir in gently, then cover and let cook another 30 minutes.
Serving Size: Makes 8 1-cup servings
