Pastry for 1 crust pie (I use Tenderflake frozen crust)1 lb ground beef1 tsp salt1/2 tsp oregano1/2 cup dry bread crumbs1/2 cup tomato sauceAlso called for but I didn't add:1/4 cup green pepper1/4 cup chopped onion1/4 tsp pepperDon't mix with above, mix later for the top:Cheese Topping:1 egg1/4 cup milk (I used skim)2 cups shredded cheddar cheese1/2 tsp each of salt, dry mustard and worcestershire sauce.
Heat oven to 425. Prepare pastry for one crust pie. In medium skillet cook and stir meat until brown. Drain off fat. Stir in salt, oregano, pepper, crumbs, tomato sauce, the onion and green pepper. Turn into pastry-lined pie pan. Spread cheese topping over the filling. Bake about 30 min.
If you like stir 1/2 cup of tomato sauce and 1/2 cup of chili sauce and serve with pie, we use ketchup.
