Ingredients
2/3 cup butter softened2/3 cup shortening1 cup white sugar1 cup brown sugar (packed)2 eggs2 teaspoon vanilla3 cups white flour1 teaspoon soda1 teaspoon salt2 cups semisweet chocolate chips1 cup chopped walnuts
Directions
heat oven 375. Mix butter,sugars,eggs, and vanilla thoroughly. Blend in flour;soda; salt;. Then add chips and walnuts. (for a softer rounder cookie add 1/2 cup flour. Drop by rounded teaspoon 2 in. apart on greased baking sheet. Bake 8-10 min. or until light brown. Cool slightly before removing from baking sheet. Makes 84 cookies.


***to bake fresh cookies on short notice, keep supply of cookie dough in freezer. Wrap it in an airtight freezer container, aluminum foil or plastic wrap. Thaw it until just soft enough to spoon onto baking sheet. Cookie dough and baked coookies can be frozen and stored from 9-12 mo.
