Ingredients
Directions
1 Tbsp. yeast1 cup warm water3 Tbsp. honey1 tsp. salt1 Tbsp. butter (melted)1 cup white flour3 cups wheat flour (approx.)
In bread maker pan, pour water, honey, salt, and butter. I use a little hotter than normal water so my butter will melt and I don't have to melt the butter in a seperate dish. Add white flour and 2 cups wheat flour. Make a well in the flour and add yeast. Turn on bread maker to dough setting and start mixing. After a few minutes of mixing, check dough to make sure it isn't too sticky. If it is, add more wheat flour. Add enough wheat flour until smooth and elastic. Allow to rise...approx. 30-45 minutes. Remove from pan and shape into 1 loaf. Place in greased loaf pan. Cover and rise until double...approx. 30-60 minutes. (I put my bread in a warm oven). Remove cover and back at 350F for 30-40 minutes or until golden brown and hollow sounding. Cool on wire wrack. Note: I sprinkle the top of the wheat bread prior to rising the last time with a mixture of brown sugar, finely chopped nuts and course old-fashion oats. This makes an awesome bread for sandwichs when fresh. Enjoy!
