REAL Orange Jello (no chemicals added)

  • Number of Servings: 4
Ingredients
2 cups orange juice (or any other 100% natural fruit juice or nectar)1 packet unflavored gelatin
Directions
Pour 1/2 cup of your juice into a small bowl. Sprinkle the gelatin evenly over the juice. The gelatin will absorb the juice, soften, and expand. Pour the remaining juice into a large, microwave-safe container and heat until the juice is boiling (time varies with different microwaves).

After the juice has boiled, add a small amount to the gelatin/juice mixture. Stir, then pour back into the large container. Continue stiring until all of the gelatin is dissolved.

Pour the mixture into 4 individual serving dishes, cover, and chill.

This tastes better than any variety of Jello from the box. I have made this with orange juice, black cherry juice, blueberry juice, cranberry juice, apple juice, all types of juice blends, and apricot nectar. The juices from the baby food section work great as well. Look for juices that are 100% fruit juice. I prefer to use juices without artificial sweeteners (aka "light juices") - I have not tried them but I am sure they will work too.

For fruit nectars, since they tend to be thicker than regular juices, use 1 1/2 cups juice and 1/2 cup water.
