Nanna's French Onion Soup

Ingredients
1 Stick of Butter3 to 4 Large Onions. Quartered and Sliced4 Tbsp flour1 pkg Lipton Beefy Onion Soup mixed with 4 cups of water1 Box of Swanson Beef BrothProvolone CheeseSourdough Bread
Directions
Makes 8 1-cup servings
Quarter and slice onions approx 1/4th inch thick and add to melted butter in large pan.
Add onions and cook on med high until onions turn very brown, approx 30 min.
Remove from heat and add flour slowly to thicken.
Begin to add beefy soup mixture and broth slowly till blended.
Return to heat and cook for 60 min.
Serve in bakeware bowl with toasted sourdough bread and provolone cheese on top.
Broil till golden brown and serve.
