green beans with tomatoes

Ingredients
1 lb fresh green beans3T olive oil 1 medium red onion thinly sliced12 oz plum tom, fresh or canned, peeled and finely sliced1/2 c water5-6 fresh basil leaves, torn into pieces
Directions
heat in oil in large fry pan with a cover. add onion slices cook 5-6 min. till tender. add tomatoes heat till soften 6-8min. stir in water. season with salt and pepper and add basil. stir in beans, turning them in the pan to coat with the sauce. cover the pan and cook over moderate heat until tender, about 15-20 min. stir occasionally and add a little more water if sauce dries out.
