Batter was VERY sticky! I added more flour to make it easier to work with. The scones came out more cake then scone, but they were very tasty! - 2/28/10

I would love to make these for Easter brunch - can you make them a day ahead? Do you need to serve them warm? - 4/5/09

I don't see why you can't make them a day ahead. I've made them several hours ahead & then just popped them in the oven for 5 minutes to warm them up. I personally think they taste better warm, but they're good cold too. My daughter won't eat them warm - she'll actually put hers in the fridge.

These are wonderful! I've made them several times with the apples we picked this fall and they are just delicious. I used half white flour and half wheat flour but that was my only change. Everyone loved them! - 10/30/08

Thank you! I adapted this recipe from one I found on Allrecipes.com. The first time I made that recipe, it was very dry & bland so I changed it. I use unbleached or whole wheat flour, too. I'm so glad you like them!

I agree these are more like a muffin than traditional biscuit scone, but simply delicious. I needed to add 1/2 c. more flour, & I added golden raisins. I also glazed them with a powdered sugar glaze while still warm from oven. This recipe is a keeper! You could easily change it up with other dried f - 3/17/18
