Ingredients
Directions
6 cups Peeled & Sliced Apples (enough to fill the bottom of a 9x13 cake pan)2/3 cup ShorteningGround CinnamonTopping:You make the topping twice. If you double batch the the topping it doesn't turn out right!!1 cup Flour1 cup Sugar1 tsp. Baking Powder1 Egg, unbeaten
Peel all the apples, core them, and slice. You can use frozen apples too, just don't thaw them!
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Spread evenly into the bottom of a 9x13 greased cake pan. You can add more or less apples depending on how many apples you really want.
In a seperate bowl, add the flour, sugar, and baking powder. Mix them together. And the unbeaten egg and mix until it's crumbly. Don't be afraid to get in there with your hands(works the best!).
Sprinkle the mixture over the apples evenly. Make the topping a second time, and also spread that evenly over the apples.
Melt the shortening and let it cool for a couple of seconds. Pour all over the mixture(it will look like a lot, but that's how it should be.) Then sprinkle the top with lots of cinnamon!
Bake for 45 minutes or until the edges start to brown & the top is hard. Cut into 24 slices and serve! (really good while it's still hot!)
