Swiss chard, chickpea and potato stew

1 lb swiss chard, rinsed, stems removed and chopped, leaves chopped2 Tbsp olive oil4 medium potatoes, sliced 3/4 inch thick1 onion, chopped3 cloves garlic, minced1 tsp paprika1/4 tsp turmeric1/8 tsp cayenne (or to taste)1 tsp salt2 cups canned chickpeas, drained and rinsed3 cups vegetable broth1 cup water
1. Blanche chard in boiling water for 3 minutes then drain thoroughly.
2. In a large saute pan, heat oil over medium heat. Add potatoes and onion, saute until potatoes start to brown (~5 minutes). Add garlic, paprika, turmeric, cayenne, and salt. Cook one minute.
3. Add blanched chard, chickpeas, broth, and water. Bring to a simmer and cook until potatoes are tender (~15 minutes).
