Coconut Pound Cake

1 pound butter, softened2 cups sugar2 cups flour6 eggs8 oz. shredded coconut2 tsp. coconut extract
Cream butter and sugar. Add one cup of the flour, beat until smooth. Add the eggs one at a time beating after each addition. Add additional cup of flour and coconut extract. Stir in coconut. pour into a floured and greased tube pan. Bake at 350 degrees for one hour or until tester comes back clean.
Cool for 15 minutes in pan. Remove from pan and drizzle warm cake with COCONUT GLAZE:
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
1 Tbsp. coconut extract
Simmer until sugar has dissolved.
