Peppermint Patties

Low fat cream cheese, 8 oz. blockPeppermint Extract, 1 tspPowdered Sugar, 2 lb. bagMilk Chocolate Candy, 3/4 cup chips Semisweet chocolate, 3/4 cup chips Shortening, Crisco, 3 tbsp
In a large mixzing bowl, beat the cream cheese and exteact until smith. Gradually add in the powdered sugat beating well. (Drop in a few drops of food coloring to swirl if desired.) Chill dough for 1 hr or longer. Shape into 1" balls and flatten slightly.
In microwave, melt chips and shortening, stir to smooth. Cool slightly. Dip patties and place on plastic covered baking sheets and chill till firm. Store in the refridgerator. Makes 48 patties.
