Italian Spaghetti Meat Sauce

24 oz 93/7 lean ground beef (cooked and drained)4 cup Hunt"s Tomato Sauce (2 lrg cans)2 cup tap water (adjust to taste)1 cup chopped yellow onion (1 large)1/4 cup chopped celery1 TBS minced garlic4 Spice packets from Kraft Italian Spaghetti Box Dinner 1 TBS dried parsley1 tsp (or less) salt2 tsp black pepperOptional: Mushrooms or Bell PepperOther spices to taste
Brown ground beef and drain fat.
Place all of the ingredients in a deep cast iron skillet.
Stir well and heat until just beginning to boil.
Reduce heat to simmer, cover, and stir every 15-20 minutes.
Ready to eat in 40 minutes. However, this sauce is much better if allowed to simmer very slowly for 3-4 hours. The sauce becomes thicker and absorbs the flavors.
