Banana nut muffins

Ingredients
1 3/4 c. flour2 3/4 tsp. baking powder1/2 tsp. salt1/3 c. shortening2/3 c. granulated sugar2 slightly beaten eggs1 c. mashed ripe bananas
Directions
Makes 14 medium sized muffins

1. Sift together four, baking powder, and salt
2.Place shortening in mixing bowl, beat until creamy and glossy.
3. Gradually add sugar beating until fluffy.
4. Add eggs and beat until pale color.
5. Alternately add flour mixture and bananas.
6. Stir in chopped walnuts.
7. Grease muffin tins
8. Fill muffin tins half full.
9. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until toothpick stuck in center comes out dry.
