Navy Bean and Ham Soup

Ingredients
1 lb navy beans8 cups water1lb lean ham5 celery stalks1 medium onion, diced2 bay leaves1 tsp. diced garlic
Directions
1. Soak beans in water overnight.

2. Combine all ingredients in the slow cooker set to low for 8- 10 hours.

Good served with cornbread.

    This was a great way to use our early Christmas leftover ham. Cooking the hambone with it provided a rich broth. I added a small amount of smoked paprika and a cup of sliced baby carrots. - 12/23/10
