Slow Cooker Pepper Steak

1 pound beef sirloin, cut into strips garlic powder to taste 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil1.5 cups beef broth 4 tablespoon cornstarch 4 tablespoons soy sauce 1 tbsp brown sugar 1 teaspoon salt 1/2 cup chopped onion 2 large green bell peppers, sliced into thin strips 1/2 cup water
Sprinkle strips of sirloin with garlic powder to taste. In a large skillet over medium heat, heat the olive oil and brown the seasoned beef strips. Transfer to a slow cooker and add 1 cup of beef broth, onions, brown sugar, salt, and soy sauce.
Mix 2 tablespoons of cornstarch with the remaining half cup of beef broth until smooth and add to slow cooker.
Cover, and cook on high for 1 hour, and on low for four hours. Add green peppers during the last hour.
Cook white rice separately according to directions on package. Serve over rice.
Recipe makes about 5 one-cup servings. Nutritional information: One serving equals one cup of beef mixture served over 3/4 cup white enriched rice (cooked).
