- Number of Servings: 1
Ingredients
Directions
Clarified ButterWhole Grain Bread [I use Pepperidge Farm 15 grain for just 13 gms carb per slice]shredded cheesemayonnaise
Clarified butter: In a coverable microwavable container melt butter. Add cold water and refrigerate. When butter has set, pour off water and milky fluid from the butter. Repeat this step if you want. When you are ready to make the sandwich, melt the clarified butter in the microwave.
Filling: One pound bag finely shredded cheese. rMix in 1/4 c mayo or just enough to hold the cheese together. Add any other seasonings like hot sauce or mustard, etc at this point.
Construction 1 sandwich:
Spread 2 oz filling between 2 slices of bread.
Brush one side of the sandwich with clarified butter; put it down in the skillet or griddle and brush the other side....grill till one side is browned to taste, then flip and grill second side.
Keep clarified butter and filling in the fridge for next time.

You can make this sandwich much healthier by omitting the clarified butter and using Pam on your George Foreman Grill or a pannini press. - 1/28/09

Oops...one line indicating lower fat alternatives was left out...and everyone doesn't have a George...you can use the Pam suggestion as above, low fat mayo, and low fat cheese...I can't eat those things because of the processing and preservatives...sorry about the error...my bad
